This section is dedicated to my exploration of artificial intelligence as both a learning tool and a growing component of modern cybersecurity practice.

I use AI actively while building this lab – not to skip the work, but to understand the why behind every command before I run it. That distinction matters a great deal to me. But I just don’t think I would have managed to get as far as I have without it. When I’m configuring a firewall rule, deploying a SIEM agent, or troubleshooting a routing issue, for the first time, having an AI I can think out loud with has made me a faster and more thorough learner than I would have been otherwise. AI has truly amplified my learning abilities.

But beyond using it as a study aid, I’m also genuinely interested in where AI and security intersect as a discipline. Detection engineering is already being augmented by machine learning. Threat hunting is being accelerated by AI-assisted triage. I have been following the news about Anthropic’s Mythos and Project Glasswing and find the research fascinating. The SecAI+ certification exists because the industry recognizes this is a real skill set, not just a trend. And this area of study just plain old gets my adrenaline pumping.

It is my hope that this section will grow to include writeups on AI-assisted detection rule development, notes from AI and security courses, and my broader thinking on how this space is evolving.
